Loretta Ross (también conocida como la “Rasta Feminista”) es una académica-activista feminista y negra que ha estado trabajando para la justicia reproductive (derechos de reproducción plus justicia social), ya que ella era parte del grupo que comenzó a usar el término a mediados de los 90. Fuimos asociados de investigación durante el año académico 2015-2016 en el Five College Women’s Studies Research Center. Loretta Ross (also known as the “Dred Feminist”) is a Black feminist scholar-activist who has been working for reproductive justice (i.e., reproductive rights + social justice), since she was part of the group that coined the term in the mid 90s. We were research associates during the 2015-2016 academic year at the Five College Women’s Studies Research Center. It is one thing to read someone’s words and another altogether to have a chance to learn about how they are shaping the movement for justice. I am thankful to Ross for sharing her works-in-progress before they were published, and grateful for her feedback on my own writing. As I learn and grow as a scholar-activist, I am following in the footsteps of iconic women such as Loretta Ross.
